Free International Language Programs

Give Your Child the Gift of Language!
For over 20 years, the International and Indigenous Languages Elementary (IILE) Program has been offered by the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board. Open to students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8, this free program gives children the opportunity to learn a new language or explore the culture and traditions of their heritage language.

The IILE program will be delivered through Remote Learning (online) with live, engaging instruction from a qualified instructor, using the Brightspace/D2L Learning Management System. This flexible and interactive format ensures equitable access for students across Muskoka and the County of Simcoe.

Research shows that children who learn multiple languages:
✅ Build stronger family connections
✅ Improve communication and school readiness
✅ Excel in reading, writing, and problem-solving
✅ Become more creative and develop sharper memory
✅ Make more friends and have more opportunities in the future
